ShoreMUN 2017

23rd and 24th September

Welcome to the main page for ShoreMUN 2017.

This year, once again Southshore College and the Model United Nations Society at Southshore are offering a Model United Nations (MUN) training programme aimed at O-Level students. The conference will highlight topics of increasing relevance to the world we live in today. Young delegates can participate in one of the three challenging and crucial committees of the United Nations General Assembly:
• DISEC – Disarmament and International Security Committee
• SPECPOL – Special Political and Decolonization Committee
• SOCHUM – Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Committee

Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations which aims at educating participants about international issues, including environmental concerns, peacekeeping, disarmament and socioeconomic problems faced by various countries. The purpose of MUN is to improve skills in public speaking, negotiation, debate, critical thinking, group work and awareness of global issues. Model UN is an internationally recognized platform and the benefits accrued from the experience are tremendous, including recognition and consideration when applying for higher education, both in Pakistan and abroad.

ShoreMUN 2017 aims to bring together students from different schools in Karachi. It creates an exciting platform where participants bring their individual stories and perspectives and leave with a broadened view of the world, exciting memories and profound ideas about global challenges.
